Student Affairs Learning and Strategic Initiatives is committed to providing unique staff development opportunities that improve organizational and staff effectiveness, facilitate learning, and build community. Annual Staff Development Experiences

New Staff & Graduate Assistant Orientation

Offered twice a year, this orientation program is designed for staff and graduate assistants new to UGA Student Affairs. Orientation provides the opportunity for new staff to not only meet and interact with their new cohort, but also offers a series of workshops intended to familiarize new employees with UGA Student Affairs. Sessions may include topics such as inclusivity, the Pillars of Student Success, and the strategic documents of the division.

Professional Enrichment Institute

The Professional Enrichment Institute is a multi-faceted, selective professional development opportunity for staff at various levels within the Division of Student Affairs. The Institute will engage participants in a specially designed curriculum shaped by the principles of excellence, ethical practice, and inclusion. Participants will develop new and enhance existing skills essential for leadership. The Institute provides a premiere experience within Student Affairs at the University of Georgia.
